Wiz Khalifa, Lupe Fiasco, J Mascis and others will also play at La Zona Rosa
Rolling Stone has big plans for its second year at the SXSW Festival, with major names like Queens of the Stone Age and Cee Lo joining some of our favorite new artists (Jessica Lea Mayfield, the Joy Formidable and Wiz Khalifa, to name three) at La Zona Rosa, a leading Austin venue.
The festivities kick off Wednesday night with the Black Angels and J Mascis opening for Queens of the Stone Age. This will be QOTSA's first U.S. show in three years – and the first date on a tour in which the band will play its debut album start to finish.
Thursday night Rolling Stone partners with Atlantic Records for a show featuring Cee Lo Gree, Wiz Khalifa and Lupe Fiasco. Earlier that day, we'll be hosting an afternoon showcase with Raphael Saadiq, Gary Clark Jr., Tracy Bonham and Austin’s own Meat Puppets. On Friday and Saturday, the party continues with Jessica Lea Mayfield, Nicole Atkins, the Joy Formidable and more.
You'll find concert coverage and live streaming video of Rolling Stone’s complete SXSW events at rollingstone.com throughout the week. Check out the invite for the Atlantic Records party here; this is the invite to the Queens of the Stone Age show, and this is the poster listing the full lineup.
All performances will be at La Zona Rosa, 612 West 4th Street in Austin. The full lineup is below, and the official press release is on the next page.
