The Longest Day are a 4 piece alternative rock band hailing from Bournemouth, Dorset. With a strong following in their home town, they are currently taking their unique mix of passionate, brooding rock up and down the UK, impressing crowds with their huge sound and enigmatic live show.
June 2010 saw the climax of over two years work, with a 500 copy limited release of the bands debut album, "A State of Indifference"; mixed by Romesh Dodangoda (Lost Prophets, Funeral For a Friend, Motorhead), mastered by Mandy Parnell (Prodigy, Sigur Ros, Paul McCartney) and featuring some stunning cover work art by Marvel Comics artist Boo Cook.
The boys have proven themselves a force to be reckoned with, having recently beaten off competition from over 100 acts across the South to be crowned winners of the Dorset Music Awards 2010. Support slots with InMe, Zebrahead, In Case of Fire and Fighting with Wire as well as regular airplay on local and BBC radio are just a few of the highlights.
The boys continue to go from strength to strength and are already making a splash within the industry. "The complete package" -Ryan Farley (A&R, Warner Chappell) "Raises the hairs on the back of my neck" -Jon Webster (Founder of the Mercury Music Prize/ Virgin Records)
